Sparrow Early Learning
About Sparrow Early Learning Centre in Brighton
Sparrow Early Learning has been a part of the Brighton community for more than 24 years and has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. We provide high quality programs that focus on the children’s interests and abilities. Read more.
Our educators are part of our centre family, with some of our educators attending the centre themselves when they were children. Most of our educators have been at the centre for over 5 years with 4 members of our team each having celebrated 10 years of service.
Inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, our educators provide a holistic, play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on natural elements and outdoor learning experiences. We celebrate each child as unique and focus our programming on meeting the individual needs and interests of each child in our care.
Indoor learning spaces feel just like home and are filled with materials and resources that come straight from nature and everyday life. Activities are largely open-ended to allow children to follow their interests, use their imagination and stimulate social interactions with their peers and educators.
Our well resourced and shaded outdoor spaces provide limitless opportunities for imaginative and collaborative play, with children enjoying open green areas, climbing equipment, sandpit, swing, bikes and our beautiful tee-pee.

Service Manager at our Childcare Centre, Brighton
My name is Sam Evans and I am very excited to become your Service Manager at Sparrow Brighton. I have been an Early Childhood Professional for 19 years starting as a school based trainee completing my cert III, my diploma and my advanced diploma in Early Childhood. Previously I was with Sparrow Bray Park for 4 years and have been managing services for the past 10 years.
I am extremely passionate about providing the highest quality care for all of the children in my care and love going on their learning journey watching them learn and grow through play based learning opportunities. Read more.
I love to have fun, actively engage in the learning experiences with the children and work hard to continually improve myself as a manager to become the best possible leader I can be. You will walk into the centre and see me having dance parties with the children, taking the children on bear hunts around the playground, and playing the all-time favourite Mr Clown a game where everyone gets to take turns showing off their special tricks.
I love learning from the children just as much as I love teaching the children, their wonder and curiosity about the world around them is the reason for choosing this career. I am extremely passionate and a very big advocate for the children within my care and look forward to building relationships with each and every one of the children in this service.
I pride myself on building positive relationships with the children, the families and educators of the service. Please feel free to come and see me any time if you have any questions.
My qualifications & experience:
- I have been an Early Childhood Professional for 19 years.
- Diploma and my advanced diploma in Early Childhood.
- Been with Sparrow Bray park for 4 years and managing services for the past 10 years.
