About the Role:
As we transition from providing catered meals to preparing and cooking all nutritious meals within the service you will assist in this transition. You will be required to plan and prepare, in consultation with the Service Manager, a menu for all children which is nutritional, well balanced and suited to the dietary needs of the children. Our menu’s incorporate a variety of cultural backgrounds and are reflective of nutritional and allergy guidelines, allowing young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically.
Sparrow Early Learning Mount Samson is location 5 minutes from Strathpine and Carseldine, 30 minutes from Aspley, Chermside, Zillmere, Sandgate, Ferny Grove and North Lakes. Our centre is situated next to the local, Mount Samson State School and has easy parking. We have inviting learning spaces that focus on relationships, connections and scaffolded learning for all as well as authentic experiences and memories for children.
What you’ll need:
- Food Handling Certificate and Food Supervisor Certificate
- Previous experience as a Childcare Cook
- Certificate III in Cookery
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care would be highly regarded
- Current & Valid Working with Children Check
- First Aid and CPR certificates including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Experience in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
- Experience in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
