About Little Explorers Childcare in Worongary

Welcome to Little Explorers Childcare Centre, which is located opposite Worongary State Primary School in Worongary on the Gold Coast Queensland.

Since 1996, Little Explorers Childcare Centre, has been delivering quality care and education to families on the Gold Coast. Read more.

We believe that families are and should be the principal influence in their child’s life and invite open communication and collaboration so that each child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our educators assist in creating a stimulating environment, one which the children will be eager to explore and learn from. Children learn by exploring their world, their own physical capabilities and being involved in relationships with adults and friends.

We provide rewarding experiences for children during play and routine activities so each child feels a sense of success. These experiences incorporate literacy and numeracy and give educators the opportunity to increase the children’s awareness.

We acknowledge and support the uniqueness of each family and the significance of their culture, customs, language and values. We believe the diversity within our community adds a richness to children’s learning as they develop an appreciation for their own and other cultural identities.

Service Managers at our Childcare Centre, Worongary

“I have been an Early Childhood Teacher in Schools and in Long Day Care for 35 years and have always been passionate about helping children reach their full potential.  At Little Explorers we believe that children are encouraged to explore and experiment when provided with a stimulating, warm and caring environment filled with wonder and excitement.  Read more.

Their active involvement, combined with the support of our experienced Educators, builds strong relationships, and leads to the development of age-appropriate skills, knowledge, and a feeling of self-worth. I am fulfilled when I watch the children having fun and enjoying their learning.

I am passionate about school readiness and believe a child needs to be surrounded by a supportive team to assist in this transition.  My burning ambition is that every child in our care will become independent, confident and have the skills and emotional resilience necessary to successfully continue their educational journey.

I feel privileged to partner and work with the families in our Worongary community and to support their children’s development.”

Karen

“Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to work with children. In year 10 I did work experience at a childcare in Robina and from then on, I knew I wanted to work in early education. After completing year 12 I went straight to Tafe and completed my Diploma in Childcare and Education.

My first position was in the Pre Kindy room ages 3-4 years old. I love working with this age as they were able to communicate with you and you could open their mind to some many different ideas. I then moved from the gold coast to Port Douglas and left the childcare industry for 2-3 years. I then opened my own family day care before I had my 2 girls.

In 2015 I started working in childcare again, this time I spent most of my time in the Nursery. I love the bonds you formed with the babies and spent 4 years in the room until I moved into a 2IC role and was off floor. I was a 2IC for 5 years before I took on the role as Service Manager at Little Explorers.

I love working alongside Karen as Service Manager and we have a wonderful team of educators who create wonderful environments for the children to learn and explore. I look forward to showcasing our service to new families who move into the area.”
