Families are encouraged to be involved with all aspects of our service including policy review, menus and children’s learning through Storypark.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our educators provide a holistic, play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning experiences. We celebrate each child as unique and our dedicated educators focus programming on meeting the individual needs and interests of each child.

Indoor learning spaces feel just like home and are filled with materials and resources that come straight from nature and everyday life. Activities are largely open-ended to allow children to follow their interests, use their imagination and stimulate social interactions with their peers and educators.

Engaging outdoor spaces provide further opportunities for imaginative and collaborative play, with children enjoying the unstructured open green spaces, quiet shady areas, sandpits and climbing equipment.

I am the service manager at Sparrow Early Learning Centre Bunyip.

I have been working in the Childcare Industry for 8 years. I have learned so much in this time, I have been an assistant educator, room leader, 2IC and now Service Manager. I have a passion for early childhood and creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Read more.

At Sparrow we follow Reggio Emilia Approach. We believe each child’s voice is so important and use this in how we program. Setting up daily activities around their interest to challenge their thinking and learning depositions. We provide open ended activities to allow the children to choose where the program and their learning will go next, and what our focus will be. This empowers the children to make decisions and supports their autonomy as they grow into themselves.

As a Service Manager I pride myself on supporting children and families. I believe it takes a village to raise a child and recognize the importance of community, building relationships and scaffolding on their social skills.

Our Team at Sparrow Early Learning Bunyip have been there for a long time are like one big happy family. We work collaboratively with one another to provide the best possible care for each individual child. Our Educators are passionate and nurturing, always seeking out new learning opportunities to upskill and extend on their knowledge. They are constantly growing with the times and changes to benefit the children and families of our service.

Enrolment process

Our childcare centre in Bunyip promotes an open-door policy where families can visit and walk through the centre at any time during operational hours.

Once families have completed a tour, they will receive an enrolment pack with all necessary paperwork.

Once enrolled, the orientation process begins. The orientation process is an arrangement made between families and staff that supports the family’s needs.
