Sparrow Karana Downs is a 67-place childcare centre with four Reggio Emilia inspired rooms offering child-led early education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Located on a quiet street near local shops and the golf course, our centre provides a warm, nurturing environment supported by passionate educators who deliver child-led early learning and care.

Welcome to Sparrow
Every space invites children to explore and discover, thoughtfully designed to support children at their individual developmental stages. In the infant room, low-placed mirrors encourage curiosity and self-awareness while toddler and Pre-Kindy rooms use open-ended and loose-parts play to spark imagination. Our Kindergarten environment gently prepares children for their transition to prep.

Hi, my name is Lindy, and I am the Service Manager at Karana Downs. I bring over 50 years of experience in the early childhood education sector. I began my career in Victoria as a Mothercraft Nurse before moving to Queensland, where I worked as an Educator and later spent many years as a Director. I also held the role of State Support Manager, supporting 22 early childhood services across Queensland with Churches of Christ.
I have extensive experience in service leadership and have worked as a Service Manager within the Ipswich area, supporting children, families, and teams through high quality early learning environments.
