Racheal’s Career Growth at Sparrow Early Learning

At Sparrow Early Learning, we believe in fostering professional growth and providing opportunities for our team members to expand their skills and reach their career goals.

We are so overly excited to be sharing the inspiring growth and contributions of Racheal, who has made a significant impact on our business, families, and communities. Racheal’s journey began at Browns Plains to her current role at the Support Office, and now stepping into a leadership role at Yarrabilba, Racheal’s story is one of passion, dedication, and growth.

A Journey that Began in 2011

Rachael completed work experience at Sparrow Early Learning Browns Plains as part of her studies. Although she was enthusiastic about hospitality and aged care, it was her dream to work with children that led her to pursue a career in early childhood education. After being offered a Traineeship position, Racheal completed her Cert III, followed by her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. More recently she successfully obtained her Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management.

Proud Moments at Browns Plains

Racheal’s time at Browns Plains has been filled with many proud moments. From starting as a work experience student to becoming an Assistant Educator, Lead Educator, 2IC, and Educational Leader, Racheal’s journey has been one of steady growth. She also took on the role of Acting Service Manager, demonstrating her leadership skills and commitment to the service. Racheal’s personal connection to Browns Plains is equally special – all four of her children have attended the service, with her youngest son currently in the nursery.

Transitioning to Head Office

Accepting a maternity cover position at our National Support Office, was a big step for Racheal, one that pushed her out of her comfort zone. Motivated by her colleagues and husband, Racheal embraced the challenge and joined the Sparrow Support Office team. Since Racheal has gained invaluable insights into the workings of the business and developed a deep understanding of the policies, procedures, and CCS processes that shape Sparrow Early Learning. Her work has allowed her to see how different services operate, while also gaining a new perspective on the importance of deadlines, policy, and inter-departmental collaboration.

A New Leadership Role at Yarrabilba

We are thrilled to announce that starting February 2025, Racheal will take on the role of Service Manager at Sparrow Early Learning Yarrabilba. This new chapter in her career is a testament to her hard work, leadership, and passion for early childhood education. With her experience from both Browns Plains and the Support Office, Racheal is well-equipped to lead, inspire and nurture the Yarrabilba team and continue making a positive impact on children, families, and the local community.

Advice for Others Seeking Career Growth

When asked about advice for others considering similar opportunities, Racheal had this to say: “If you are ever given the opportunity to gain further experience, grow, and extend your knowledge, take it!”

Racheal’s journey is a testament to the career growth opportunities available at Sparrow Early Learning. Whether it is moving from one role to another within a service or making the transition to Head Office, we are committed to supporting our team members in reaching their full potential.

We are so proud of everything Racheal has achieved, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish as the Service Manager at Yarrabilba!
